Abstract

One of the important tasks of designing a microstrip patch antenna is to choose proper feeding position. In this paper, an inset feed rectangular microstrip patch antenna for wireless applications has been designed and the dependency of antenna parameters (like directivity, gain, return loss, bandwidth, axial ratio etc.) on the feeding position has been studied. A very precise analysis of performance variation with changing feeding position of that aforesaid antenna is presented. The designed antenna showed comparatively better performance with better return loss of -37.131 dB after adjusting feeding position at 24.705 mm from the left edge of the patch which is the center position of the patch width.
