Abstract
In the current scenario, mobile users are increasing exponentially in number. Thus, to achieve the guaranteed level of Quality of Service (QoS) for the maximum users, maximum bandwidth utilization is not the only key issue. Some different elements such as call blocking probability, interference, handover are also required to be taken into consideration as low performance of these elements may lead to detoriation in overall QoS. In this paper we have used fixed channel scheme as the channel assignement strategy for modelling an occupied, high movement wireless network system that is similar to an urban situation. By matlab simulations, we varied different parameters of the system and compared the results for Fixed Channal allocation with borrowing (FCAB) and Fixed Channal allocation without borrowing or No borrowing- (FCANB). In the results section we have shown that FCAB is far superior to FCANB performances in terms of overall call blocking probability and bandwidth utilization.
