Abstract

A study of the performance of currently available CdTe and Hgl2 detectors has been undertaken in the 10-660 keV energy range, in order to evaluate the possibilities as well as the limitations of these spectrometers. Energy resolution, absolute photo-peak efficiency, total counting efficiency, the ratio between the photopeak and total counts and risetime distributions have been successively analyzed.
