Abstract
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system comprises of more than one antenna at transmitter and receiver which increases the capacity of the system. Spatial modulation (SM) is a new transmission method used in MIMO systems where symbol from signal constellation point and the location of transmit antenna in the antenna array conveys information. Spatial constellation point represents transmit antenna location in the array. Space-time block coded spatial modulation (STBC-SM) takes the advantages of space time block coding (STBC) and SM. It exploits multiplexing gain and transmit diversity. Another transmission scheme trellis coded spatial modulation (TCSM), mainly focused in correlated channel conditions, where available transmit antennas are grouped by set partitioning such that the distance between transmit antennas in each subset is maximum. In this paper, the performance of spatial modulation (SM), space-time block coded spatial modulation (STBC-SM), trellis coded spatial modulation (TCSM) in multicast MIMO system for different channel condition is investigated.
