Abstract

MIMO systems are widely used in several wireless communication systems because it has the ability to provide high reliability and increased capacity without the use of increased transmit power. MIMO systems use space time codes to achieve diversity at both sections of transmitter and receiver. Here the design of MIMO and MISO systems are performed with multicarrier delay diversity modulation techniques which use both cyclic delay diversity and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Due to the bandwidth efficiency and the ability to reduce multipath effect OFDM is used in several wireless standards. Design and simulation is done in MATLAB using an AWGN channel for BPSK and QPSK modulation schemes to obtain a performance comparison of MISO and MIMO systems in terms of bit error rate.
