Abstract

Abstract Many studies have related performance on neuropsychological tests to forensic aspects of behavior. Use of neuropsychological tests has to a large extent focused on subject performance. Interest is rarely focused on qualitative aspects of the solution process. In the present study 82 prisoners completed a computerized neuropsychological test battery allowing a detailed analysis of both quantitative and qualitative aspects of a person's test performance. The neuropsychological data could be reduced to a set of meaningful dimensions or factors, combining information from different tests. Some of the factors were associated with personality and criminality attributes. Criminal versatility and violence were significantly associated with verbal deficits, as were also indices of childhood and persistent ADHD.
