Abstract

Today the needs for efficient bandwidth utilization and method to overcome bandwidth fluctuation of the wireless standards have become the main problem in video transmission. This work uses CSVC (Combined Scalable Video Coding) referring to Joint Scalable Video Model (JSVM), video coding by exploiting module of Coarse Grain Scalability (CGS) and Medium Grain Scalability (MGS). The proposed scheme has been implemented on Network Simulator II (NS-2) for wireless medium. The scheme is an analyzed platform for the CSVC implementation on a more realistic simulation over wireless medium based on an open-source program. The result shows that CSVC implementation on MGS mode outperforms CGS mode. The scheme is simpler than the other schemes in prior works used to evaluate video transmission over wireless medium.
