Abstract
In this paper, bifacial photovoltaic (PV) panels (BP) with inclined and horizontal east–west sun trackers (IEW/HEW) are designed to track the sun. According to the annual radiation, the average irradiance distribution in a typical radiation day is established to estimate the annual performance. Taking three regions in China as examples, the annual radiation increments of BP with IEW and HEW compared with optimum fixed monofacial PV systems are analyzed under different array spacing and albedo conditions. In addition, a method for estimating angular loss of diffuse irradiance is also proposed. Finally, a validation experiment is carried out in Taizhou to verify the calculation results.
