Abstract

In uplink of interleaved single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) systems, multiple access interference (MAI) arises from different carrier frequency offsets (CFOs) from different users at the receiver. In this paper, the performance of uplink interleaved FDMA (IFDMA) in the presence of CFOs is exactly analyzed. An expression of signal to interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) is derived for the IFDMA systems in the presence of CFOs. Furthermore, an approximate average bit error ratio (BER) expression is also derived as function of the SINR, where the moment generating function is used to derive cumulative density function of SINR, under the scenario of Rayleigh fading channels. Finally, both analytical and simulated BER results are given to verify the derived results.
