Abstract

This paper presents a detail analysis of the performance of large interconnected High Voltage transmission system with an analytical approach. Transmission system in modern electric power system is interconnected in order to increase reliability and availability of power. Different performance indices are evaluated to compare the performance of high voltage transmission system. In this research work voltage deviation index, power transfer stability index, power demand deviation index, transformer loading index and transmission line loading index have been considered. Each transmission line performance is compared with other lines in interconnected system and Distributed Generation capacity required to be installed at optimal grids station for the performance enhancement is evaluated with Comparison Based DG Implementation algorithm. The simulation is carried out in commercially available MATLAB software package. Transmission line percent efficiency and regulation also have been evaluated showing the power loss, power quality and voltage profile of the power transmission system.
