Abstract

We study the bit-error rate (BER) of CDMA system focusing on minimum mean squared error successive interference cancellation (MMSE-SIC). Based on the novel method we developed for MIMO system in (Ohno and Teo, 2005) that do not require the channel probability density functions, we prove analytically that in the non-linear MMSE-SIC scheme, the BER improves with each step of symbol cancellation for any channel that holds not just at high signal-to-noise (SNR) and signal-to-interference noise ratio (SINR) but for all range of SNR and SINR. Simulation results are presented to substantiate our theoretical findings
