Abstract

Today, with the explosive growth and expanding efficiency of digital technology, digital inverter system is having edge over analog systems. Microprocessors, Microcontrollers and Digital Signal Processors (DSP) have been used for Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pulse generation and real-time controller of inverter systems. Digital systems have many advantages over analog systems. The digital systems are programmable thus offering flexibility in system modifications, whereas analog systems depend on the variation of constant condition of parts. Hence, the complicated parameter tuning is avoided in digital systems. This makes the design process of closed loop controller for inverter systems much simpler and user friendly. Digital systems are also robust towards environmental effects and drifts, as well as enhance the system performance. Therefore, implementing digital technique is an additional advantage for design and development of closed loop inverter system for photovoltaic applications. This research paper is basically based on the approach that by considering conventional tracking system different types of single phase inverter topologies could be implemented whose switching is done by using DSP TMS320C28027.
