Abstract

Error performance of a L-branch selection combining (SC) receiver is analyzed over independent and non-identically distributed Nakagami- m fading channels. A novel exact closed-form expression for average symbol error rate (ASER) for general order rectangular quadrature amplitude modulation (RQAM) scheme is derived using cumulative distribution function based approach. Further, exact closed-form ASER expressions for differentially encoded quadri-phase shift-keying (DE-QPSK) and π/4-QPSK modulation schemes have been presented. Numerically evaluated results are plotted and compared with Monte Carlo simulation results to verify the correctness of the derivations.
