Abstract
The demand for Universal connectivity and high capacity has been increasing due to the availability of limited RF spectrum. A visible Light Communication (VLC) system spectrum occupancy ranges from 380 nm to 750 nm be in tune to a frequency spectrum of 430 THz to 790 THz by employing visible light for communication. Multiple input Multiple-output is a technique for increasing the capacity using more than one transmit and receive antennas in order to employ multipath propagation. The availability of the large bandwidth resolves problem of lesser bandwidth in Radio Frequency communication. In the multiple input VLC system precoding techniques are employed to avoid interference. Zero forcing and MMSE (minimum mean square error) precoding techniques are derived and comparison of both the techniques is analyzed in this paper. The performance of precoding techniques in the MIMO VLC systems is depicted using simulation results.
