Abstract
This work propose a approach for improving performance of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with uncertain wind velocity. In this work, a maximum power point tracing (MPPT) approach control the optimum torque of the PMSG with respect to wind speed and direct-axis current controller reduces the winding losses of generator. The electromagnet torque of the PMSG is correlated with the magnitude of the quadric-axis current, while the direct-axis current is zero. The performance of the proposed MPPT method and direct-axis current controller of PMSG incorporating loss minimization and improving efficiency is simulation result at variable wind speed conditions. The proposed control strategy is implemented in MATLAB software.
