Abstract

This article presents the comparative analysis of three different controllers for the speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Space vector pulse width modulation technique is utilized to generate pulses for inverter switches. The PI, fuzzy and artificial neural network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based speed controllers are implemented to observe response times and quality of responses from PMSM drive. The analysis of these controllers is done on the basis of different torque and speed commands. Further, performance of PMSM drive with these controllers is tested and verified with MATLAB simulation platform. In conjunction with these controllers, field oriented control technique has been utilized to observe steady state and transient response of the motor. Also, basic experimental setup is developed for PMSM drive.
