Abstract

In this paper, performance of 2-terminal Perovskite/Si tandem solar cell has been analyzed by varying different physical and device parameters. Some best possible designs for the enhanced efficiency of the device have also been proposed. Transfer matrix method has been used to calculate the intensity of incident light on the bottom cell after its absorption by the top perovskite layer. Generation of excitons, instead of free carriers, on incident of light in an organic material has been considered in this study. Results show that the efficiency of whole structure greatly depends on the thickness of top perovskite layer and a maximum value of power conversion efficiency (PCE) is obtained as 27% for an optimized thickness of perovskite layer, 170nm. Bottom cell thickness has also some role but unlike top cell thickness.
