Abstract

Passive radar systems based on navigation satellite reflected signal achieve the target detection and location by receiving and processing Globe Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reflected signal efficiently. This paper puts emphasis on study of characteristics of the navigation reflected signal. The GPS signal coverage, C/A code ambiguity function, the amplitude and phase of the reflected signal GPS, polarization characteristics of the reflected GPS signal have been studied. Simulation of the system detection performance based on airborne receiving system has been performed. The simulation results show that the signal processing gain for the passive radar system based on GPS reflected signal is quite high. The currently conventional GPS receiver could not detect the low level signal, new signal processing techniques or high-gain antenna and other ways should be used to make up for the high demand of signal processing gain.
