Abstract
The integration of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with Radio over Fiber technology has resulted to high data rate at low cost components. This paper investigates the performance of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signals through a Wavelength Division Multiplexing system by using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) as compensator of dispersion effect over the link. The system designed was performed using VPItransmission MakerTM 8.7 software. Four Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) signals format with frequency range of 18 Gbps data were generated in each transmitter and modulated with optical carriers in Continuous Wave (CW) by Mach Zehnder Modulator (MZM) before transmitted over Single Mode Fiber (SMF). The proposed system can boost the system performance with significant data rate and cost effective.
