Abstract

Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is a technology used to overcome networks with long delay times. The use of a Multi-Copy routing type on DTN can increase the message delivery ratio and reduce delay but requires vast resources such as buffers. Previous research on DTN assumed a high buffer usage while in the application of DTN, the buffer used is limited. Restrictions on buffer size can cause a decrease in the message delivery ratio and a high increase in delay. To overcome this, DTN can be implemented with a buffer management policy to optimize limited buffer use. One of the buffer management that can be applied is Message Drop Control Source Relay (MDC- SR), which can control the disposal of messages and maximize data transmission. Also, the use of Stationary Relay Nodes can improve routing performance in increasing the probability of sending messages. In this research, Multi-Copy routing will be compared by adding MDC-SR buffer management and Stationary Relay Node policies that are simulated using The ONE Simulator. The results obtained will be analyzed using the delivery probability and overhead ratio performance parameters in Epidemic, Spray And Wait, and MaxProp routing. The test results show that MaxProp routing has the highest Delivery Probability compared to other routings with a value of 0.9850 in the medium Upper Bound and buffer of 12MB. Meanwhile, Spray and Wait routing has the lowest Overhead Ratio with a value of 1.1441s in the low Upper Bound and buffer of 10MB.
