Abstract

The security level of the medical images in hospitals and scan centers are increased by steganography technique, which imposes the secret image into cover image in order to improve the security level. In this paper, an efficient edge based steganography algorithm is proposed using fuzzy logic. Fuzzy rules are constructed which are used to detect the edges in both cover and secret image. The construction of fuzzy rules optimizes the edge detection process by finding the thin and thick edges in both cover and secret image. The Discrete Wavelet Transform is applied on the edge detected cover and secret image, which produces sub bands as Approximate, Horizontal, Vertical and Diagonal. The weak edge coefficients in cover image are overlaid by the coefficients of the secret image, which produces highly secured steganography image. The performance of the proposed steganography technique is analyzed in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio, Mean Square Error and Entropy.
