Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a group of the specialized wireless devices which forms a communication infrastructure at a diverse location. IEEE 802.15.4 standard for wireless devices like ZigBee has demonstrated its enormous application as WSN. ZigBee has got popularity for its both small range and wide range coverage. In wide range coverage, a large scale ZigBee network deployment is going ahead. Without proper network structure, a lot of sensor nodes needed for coverage. And also take down the network performance of the large-scale ZigBee network. This study, however, carries a new geometric structure to improve the formation of large scale ZigBee network and its performance. The network simulator Riverbed is used to design and implement a large ZigBee network in geometrical patterns. And also the network performance is analyzed by scrutinizing different network parameters. For real-time communication, free from network path is chosen according to the traffic inside the network. Finally, a deep analysis between two geometric structures - random and octagonal has presented with related parametric aspects. The analysis indicates the new octagonal structure shows significant performance in large scale ZigBee network deployment. This study will create a new opportunity to establish a reliable large-scale ZigBee network.
