Abstract

Free space optical communication (FSO) is a technology that uses laser light for the propagation of information signals. FSO technology provides many advantages, but climatic variations make long-distance transmission ineffective. In this paper a hybrid combination of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique and Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technique with FSO system was utilized. Moreover, Gaussian pulse generator (GA), Return to zero (RZ) and Non-Return to zero (NRZ) data formats are used for the performance analysis of the proposed system. The Results show that the NRZ data format is suitable for a higher transmission range and the GA data format is suitable for a lower transmission range. To compile the results, the OptiSystem software is used. In the simulation study, the bit error rate (BER) and quality factor (Q-factor) has been used to evaluate the results.
