Abstract

In this paper, we derive the theoretical symbol error rate (SER) for a full-rate space-time block coded (STBCed) system with coordinate interleaved orthogonal designs (CIODs) over flat Rayleigh fading channels. In particular, we consider the full-rate CIOD codes with single-symbol maximum likelihood (ML) detection that employ rotated square M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). It is shown that simulation results match with our theoretical performance analysis for one receive antenna case.
