Abstract
The present paper presents performance analysis of a four-recess hybrid conical journal bearing. Three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis has been done using FLUENT. For two different lubricants (VG-32 and Glycerine) maximum pressure developed in bearing has been found out for various eccentricity ratio values (e = 0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8) for semi cone angle of 10° and varying the semi cone angle (10°, 20°, 30°and 40°) by taking aspect ratio as 1. From simulation results it was found that the values of maximum pressure developed in bearing increases with semi cone angle.
