Abstract

Relay selection (RS) scheme for two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay channels is studied in this paper. Based on the conventional max-min SNR single RS (SRS) scheme, we consider a Dual RS (DRS) scheme that allows two relay nodes to help the source terminals with distributed space time block codes (DSTBC) utilized at the selected relays. The performance of the considered DRS scheme is analyzed using an upper and lower bound of end-to-end signal to noise ratio (SNR). Based on the bounds of the received SNR, the exact lower and upper bounds of the CDF of the received SNR have been derived. Furthermore, the lower and upper bounds of average symbol error rate (SER) is also analyzed. Our provided performance bounds for DRS scheme have a good agreement with the simulation results.
