Abstract

This letter presents full-rate cooperative spectrum sharing protocol where both primary and secondary transmitters are allowed to transmit simultaneously on the same frequency channel by using orthogonal spatial modulation technique. This proposed scheme can optionally enable secondary receiver as a full-duplex fixed decode-and-forward cooperative relay to maintain quality-of-service (QoS) of the cell-edge users. Considering two different modes, i.e., cooperative relay mode for cell-edge users and cooperative non-relay mode for cell-center users, we derive the closed-form expressions for the average bit error rate (BER) of both primary and secondary receivers.
