Abstract

Plankton is an aquatic animal that has many benefits such as cosmetics, food, animal feed, and even biodiesel. One of the plankton that has good potential is rotifers (Brachionus plicatilis). Rotifers have the advantage that small morphology (no need much space), reproduce quickly, and easy to be cultured. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in density on the performance of rotifers production. The treatments in this study were A (500 kg), B (density 2 tons), and C (density 8 tons). The results showed that the highest density value was found on the 5th day of treatment B (574 ind/ml). This indicates that the culture of rotifers on a mass scale of 2 tons showed the highest value on the 5th day.
