Abstract

In recent years, airport runway FOD (Foreign Object Debris) detection system that usess millimeter-wave radar as the main means of detection becomes a hot research topic in the field of Civil Aviation. The radar clutter background that airport runway FODs situate is complex and relatively strong, therefore, need to use constant false alarm rate (CFAR) technology to obtain a satisfactory detection performance. Focus on this problem, application of FOD detection in airport runway environment is simulated by matlab. Simulation results show the detection performance of some CFAR methods, and provide theoretical basis for practical engineering application.
