Abstract
While Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) is routine within the spinal surgeon's repertoire, it is surgery with the potential to cause significant associated complications. In particular, cage migration and cage subsidence are often reported. The purpose of the study was to report a case of intraoperative penetration of a fusion cage into the adjacent vertebral body after PLIF.
