Abstract

Bearing capacity of some section steel joints which used in SRC (steel reinforced concrete) beam-column joints was analyzed by the Finite Element Analysis software, ABAQUS. The influence of several factors, including position of perforation, ratio of perforation, methods of perforation, distance of perforation, on bearing capacity were investigated. The results show that the ratio of perforation is the main factor causing the reduction of bearing capacity. Methods of perforation and distance of perforation have no significant influence on bearing capacity of joints. Because of the limitation of strengthening methods proposed by standard construction drawings, a novel strengthening method was proposed and analyzed in this paper. The results show that this strengthening method has ideal effect, and deserved to be further studied.
