Abstract

Porous polyethylene implants with embedded titanium ave been in use for a few years and provide an alternaive to alloplastic materials for orbital reconstruction; they ave a profile that combines several advantages of porous olyethylene and titanium implants.1 More recently, custom-shaped, porous, polyethyleneoated titanium mesh implants for reconstruction of the edial wall and orbital floor have become available in various izes and thicknesses (Medpor® TitanTM Porex Surgical, nc).
