Abstract

The aim of this study was to survey, describe and present the epidemiological profile of acute chagasic patients in the State of Tocantins in the period 2007 and 2018. Data were collected from all confirmed cases of Acute Chagas Disease (DCA) in the State of Tocantins , between 2007 and 2018, and which were notified in the Information System and Notifiable Diseases (SINAN). Acute Chagas disease (ACD) is a disease caused by Tripanosoma cruzi, and its vector is Triatoma Infestans which is a blood-sucking triatomine. There are several means of transmitting this disease, such as oral, vector, vertical, accidental, blood transfusion and even organ transplantation of infected people.+
