Abstract

The objective of this research is to diagnose and propose the admission profile for university students. The research was quantitative, basic with a propositional design. The population was 30 students, 14 males and 16 females of the second cycle of primary education, academic semester 2023-II. The entire population was the sample. From the competency-based approach, we understand the entry profile as the set of three dimensions: cognitive (knowing how to know), procedural (knowing how to do) and attitudes and values (knowing how to be). In the diagnosis, research instruments were applied for each dimension, the results of which express that most students are at a medium and low level of academic performance, which requires providing them with greater support, such as facilitating their insertion, enhancing their capacities and completing their studies successfully, throughout the training process, with emphasis on the first and second year of university. We believe that all of the above allowed us to propose a more orderly and viable admission profile.
