Abstract

ABSTRACT To characterize the epidemiological profile of drug and pesticide intoxications treated at an urgency and emergency hospital in the State of Rondonia, in 2018. Methods : This is a cross-sectional descriptive study of medical records available at the Medical and Statistics Archive Service (MSAS) of 24 patients. The documentary research with a quantitative approach, with secondary data from an Urgency and Emergency Hospital in Cacoal / RO. Results : In 2018, 24 hospital cares were made to victims of drug and pesticide intoxications (herbicides, rodenticides and insecticides) with a significant number of suicide attempts with the consumption of these substances orally, with emphasis on greater cases in young people. Conclusions : It is concluded that drug and pesticide intoxications has led many individuals to hospitalization, showing the importance of the qualified performance of professionals and the provision of care in a timely manner, among which the nurse stands out.
