Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the anthropometric profile of children and adolescents treated in educational units located on the outskirts of the city of Londrina – PR. Thus, we evaluated 678 children and adolescent of both the sexes, aged 7 to 14 years. The anthropometrics variables studied were corporal body weight, height, triceps skinfold thickness and the arm circumference. From the anthropometrics variables was calculated body mass index, the arm muscle area and arm fat area, according to Frisancho.14 To verify the possible differences between the investigated variables analysis was used of variance for two factors (ANOVA two-way). The location of the differences was obtained by post hoc test of TUKEY (p<0.05). With the processes of growth and development is a linear increase with age in the values of the anthropometric profile. In relation to body fat, the girls had higher values than boys at all ages. The values of the anthropometric profile were minors in relation to the data presented in the literature, indicating greater risk for inhabitants of the outskirts.
