Abstract

A novel configuration of a monolayer MoS2 covered on a silicon photonic crystal slab with cross-shaped groove of air resonator, supported by a gold back reflector, has been proposed to achieve perfect absorption in monolayer MoS2 both theoretically and numerically. The perfect absorption of monolayer MoS2 is explored by the critical coupling with guided resonance. Simulated results demonstrate that the absorption wavelengths of monolayer MoS2 depend on the geometrical parameters of the structure, exhibiting advantageous tunability of operating wavelength in monolayer MoS2. These results indicate that the designed optical structure might open promising technologies for improving the light–matter interaction in two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and has potential applications in wavelength-sensitive optoelectronic devices.
