Abstract

Ocean wave energy conversion system is accumulated wave energy into electrical energy. One of the technologies ocean wave energy conversion system is oscillating water column technology. Basically the working principle of oscillating water column is generating electricity from the rise and fall of sea water due to sea waves into a hollow column oscillation. The rise and fall of sea water will lead to the passage of air in the whole part of the column and the pressure resulting from the rise and fall of sea water in the column will drive the turbine. The aim of this study was to plan Wells turbine oscillating water column system with a capacity of 10 kW in wave power plant in marine waters, Coast of Motadikin. From the calculation of the amount of electric power generated by the use of sea wave PLTGL-OWC with the smallest power of 26686.96 Watt in December, while the power of 3,762,948.04 Watts in March and April. As for the use of the Wells turbine used simulation result in mechanical power turbine at 15031.13 Watt, with efficiency 24.544% oscillating water column
