Abstract
Patients with a severe peripheral arterial occlusive disease, defined as chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI),1 with an increase of 1-year mortality and amputation rates.2 Deep venous arterialization (DVA) creates a shunting blood flow from the artery to the deep vein. The DVA provides an alternative treatment for CLTI, and the safety and successful revascularization by percutaneous DVA (pDVA) was reported in Europe.3 There was also a successful pilot study in Singapore for pDVA by using the LimFlow device.4 Here, we report a case in Taiwan with CLTI, which failed in the prior endovascular procedure. We used total pDVA to create an arterial-venous bypass for ischemic limb salvage and with a perfect long-term outcome without using LimFlow device.
