Abstract
Introduction: Percutaneous cholecystostomy tube (PCT) insertion is a common rescue approach for the management of acute cholecystitis in patients with prohibitive operative risk. Practice patterns, outcomes and definitive cholecystectomy rates in these patients remain unclear. The primary aim of this study was to investigate these trends using a large population-based database.
