Abstract
Percutaneous Absorption is a new addition to the literature, which reviews the permeability of skin and complements the other recent volumes by Barry ( Dermatological Formulations: Percutaneous Absorption ) and Schaefer et al ( Skin Permeability ). It will interest those who are concerned with transdermal drug delivery and toxicology. The book evolved from the reports presented at the 1983 Percutaneous Absorption Symposium held by the Food and Drug Administration in Washington, DC. However, only 25 of the 44 articles in this volume are attributed to this symposium. (One of the editors is an author of 18 of the articles.) The volume consists of 25 review articles, 15 experimental reports, and four theoretical articles (four of the review articles also offer useful mathematical discussions).
