Abstract
In an investigation of the relationships between perceptual style, test anxiety and test structure, 95 young adult college students were studied. It was hypothesized that perceptually field-dependent Ss would score higher on anxiety and perform relatively poorly on unstructured, essay type, examinations than field-independent Ss. This hypothesis was not confirmed. Explanation centered around the lack of differentiation in perceptual style among Ss as well as probable faulty equipment.
