Abstract

<p>Social and competitive dancing has gained some strength, particularly in the last 30 or so years. Today, dance sports is now officially an extremely physical activity involving both females and males. It is in this view that the researchers aimed to find out the social issues on dance sports among the male population and find out their acceptability level towards the sports. Further, the study wanted to determine the acceptability of dance sports among the students of the University of the Immaculate Conception vis-à-vis, their perception on masculinity issues. The study used a descriptive-correlation research design using a researcher-made survey questionnaire. Findings of this study revealed that there is no significant relationship between the respondents’ perception and their acceptability towards dance sports.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords:</strong>Dance sports, masculinity, acceptability, male dancers, Descriptivecorrelation, Philippines</p><div> </div>
