Abstract

University “trading rooms” have become a popular venue for preparing students for professions in finance. At one university, a survey of incoming master of science in finance students was conducted in June 2010 to develop a preliminary understanding of what finance students want and expect from their trading room and the Library with regard to resources and services, as well as to gauge the students’ receptivity toward information and communication technology literacy–focused instruction. The survey findings have been influential in the development of new instructional and service approaches and collaborations between the trading room and the Library.
