Abstract

This paper studies Chinese people's risk perception from social environment. A survey is designed to investigate people's feelings of safety and justice towards social environment in mainland China. Responses of 2486 participants from seven large administrative regions are collected and 1090 responses are selected as samples. The result is compared to an analysis of public relations crises in 2012. Results show that public relations events are more likely to happen in the areas where people feel safer. The occurrence of public relations crises has close relation with people's feelings of justice on social security and law enforcement.
