Abstract

Education is regarded as the most essential and a foundation to establish reforms in any country across the globe. Education advances in response to the changes in both society and industry, providing the valuable human resources that any organization needs to prosper in the future. As such, upgrading and modernizing educational systems through revisiting essential employability skills is commanding. Education 4.0 is a new concept of education that will combine the real and virtual worlds. The project-driven approach that Education 4.0 supports helps students learn in fun and in interesting ways. It shuns theoretical knowledge and prompts students to learn time management skills, organizational skills, collaborative skills, personality development, and the soft skills much needed for their employment for the road ahead. With the developments in technology and innovation, manufacturing, workforce, training, and educational systems were affected. Facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution, academics are researching the possible changes that might arise in education and skills of the future workforce. As the workplace develops, new competencies will surface. Industrial revolutions have been affected by the developments in technology and innovation. The First Industrial Revolution was caused by mechanization, the Second Industrial Revolution was caused by the usage of electrical energy, and the Third Industrial Revolution was caused by electronics and automation. With this high-tech strategy, which converge the industrial production and information and communication technology, industry is going through a transformation to full digitization and intelligent production in education. In this concept, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, Big Data analysis, mobile learning, and cyber security are stated as the “Drivers of Industry 4.0 and it is a collective term for technologies and concepts of value chain organization, which is highly influencing on [e]ducation in teaching and learning process”.
