Abstract
Socially responsible companies are those that have incorporated into their strategic planning a management model that seeks to improve stakeholders´ quality of life through good practices in the social, economic and environmental dimensions. This article seeks to determine the perception that citizens of the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ) have regarding the concept, dimensions, benefits and purchasing decision that corporate social responsibility forges. The research has a mixed and exploratory approach, with a sample of 380 people from the Itchimbia parish. The findings are that, although there is still some ignorance about the triple dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and this is perceived as regulatory compliance, there are people who are willing to pay a premium value for the assets of companies that are socially responsible.
