Abstract
This article aims at sharing personal reflections on the Russian perception of the most important and dominant key symbols in the Latin-American world vision reflected in the literary universe created by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. We appreciate and recognize the specificity of the symbols in the best way by comparison with those of other nations. Therefore, to detect and clarify the ethnic-cultural specificity/universality of words-symbols we have used the methodology of comparative and cognitive analysis. Multiple mythical symbols abound in human verbal awareness in general and in the ethnic one in particular having a huge creative potential.
