To this end, we worked with a sample of 124 employees working in the different areas of footwear manufacturing; the sample was randomly selected from all the representatives of the MSMEs that formed the population; the questionnaire was elaborated considering items related to the dimensions of the variables. The results obtained showed very clearly that knowledge management influences the performance of the MSMEs under study; consequently, the hypothesis posed, "Knowledge management influences the performance of footwear MSMEs in the El Porvenir district", was accepted. In conclusion, the results showed that the correct management of information within the MSMEs makes it possible to generate new knowledge, thus improving their performance and at the same time making them more competitive in the national and international markets, providing customer satisfaction and improving the quality of working life of their workers.
