Abstract
Veterinary professionals are exposed inherently to zoonotic diseases. That is why it is very important to know them, as far as adopting the necessary biosecurity measures to avoid their spread. The aim of this study was to test how HCVC’s Small Animal Medicine and Surgery partnership students perceive the risks of the profession, how they prevent them and how are they taught about zoonotic diseases. To that end, 11 questions were asked in a written questionnaire, which was answered by 51 of these students during the present year (2015-16).

En cuanto a la higiene de manos, tan solo 14 (27,5%) de los encuestados alegaron lavarse las manos siempre después de atender a cada paciente, antes de atender al siguiente; quince encuestados afirmaron lavárselas en más de tres ocasiones por consulta; y 16 alumnos en hasta tres ocasiones. 24 alumnos consideraron que la formación recibida es insuficiente, y tan solo un encuestado negó haber recibido formación alguna sobre este ámbito. Comparando los resultados entre cursos, 10 de los 13 encuestados de tercero consideró insuficiente su formación.
